Trump State Of Mind

I’ve sat and watched a lot of malarkey in recent years but the crap coming from this presidential campaign cannot be ignored. We continually say we need to unify and stop this racial divide yet we are voting for a state in which we are turning back time, erasing centuries of “progress”. What is going on is pro Jim Crow, pro segregation, and even pro slavery. It is heavily apparent that racism is strong and getting stronger.
It isn’t enough that black people are executed by the police. No, we are being bullied all around. Pushed, punched, and spat at. It infuriates me that people refuse to talk about racial tensions and the abundance of discrimination that has never gone away but resurfaced in a physical way. We mention it but few will call it what it is. Why is that?
Why is it easier to talk about Kim Kardashians nude photos or what happened on your favorite tv show than it is to talk about real issues that affect your everyday life? We get into small groups and discuss these things but never in a bigger setting. We can’t expect anything to get done if we choose to be quiet instead of making our voices heard. But that also doesn’t mean making ridiculous protest in the name of justice yet the protest benefits no one. If anything it gives us a worse off impression. Masses appearing in the public eye do little to positively impact the movement.
I am not saying don’t be seen, I am simply saying lets be cognizant of the vision we hold and the vision we show. Of course, media outlets are already against us. The violent acts at Trump’s rallies are a stern reminder of the harsh realities we face in a society that would rather pretend like nothing is there.
We need to keep these racial injustices in the limelight. We can’t let stories die that hold national attention. We all have to do our part sharing this message. Things change when people truly believe they can and they won’t let up. Let us not let up. Let them know we won’t lay down to racism anymore. The fight is ours.
